MVBD - JAWS (with a virtual serial port)
Yes, it is possible to connect the MVBD with the JAWS screenreader. In this case the MVBD is a wrapper between JAWS and our braille devices.
You don't need a real braille device to test this. The MVBD shows the braille characters in a virtual device.
- Download and install the free Virtual Serial Port Software com0com. Use allways the signed version and trust the driver.

- Click the Setup link in your Startmenu and add a new pair from a free
port like COM8 to COM_MVBD.
The name of the second port have to be COM_MVBD!
JAWS supports only ports from COM1 to COM9.
- Select the JAWS tab in the MVBD. Set the Activate checkbox. Activate the 'Show Brailleline' checkbox in the bottom of the MVBD too.
- In JAWS select the ESYS device on COM8 (the first name
in your pair)
If JAWS don't find the device you can manage and restart JAWS in the MVBD.
